Michael will delve into optimal weather conditions and cloud types for exceptional lighting.

He will showcase his commercial and personal adventure photography and share his expertise in capturing the best sunrise and sunset hues, navigating challenging lighting, and aligning subject matter with lighting conditions. Additionally, he will reveal the most dependable weather forecast sources for photographers and what forecasts to look for to seize photographic opportunities.


Michael is an award-winning professional photographer, popular speaker, and workshop leader known for his clean style, strong color, and remarkable light. Corporate clients include Patagonia, REI, and National Wildlife. Michael is based in northern New Mexico and has spent 30+ years working in the wilds of Alaska.
