MANAGING YOUR PHOTO FILES AND EDITING TIPS AND TRICKS
This small group session will cover several topics, but the emphasis is on managing your photo files, particularly in Lightroom. Plus other topics!
By now many of us have accumulated hundreds of photos in files spread over hard drives. The main problem is that the hard drives will FAIL. It is not a question of “if” but a question of “when.” Or, although the drive may not fail, it could be lost in a house fire or other accident. You won’t want to lose the files!
This seminar will first focus on the way that Lightroom files, in particular, are structured and how to know where they are located on your hard drive. Next, we will look at one way to make backup copies of the files on other hard drives.
One way to store and have copies of files is on a collection of small hard drives. We will look at a process that is suitable for most of us, but Pam Cohen will describe an even more powerful method.
In the next part of the session, we will review the Lightroom techniques that Les Saucier described this week. As many know, there are numerous approaches to editing files. We will compare his very effective approach to others.
Finally, Tina Schell had some very nice photo collages in her blog this week, and she will demonstrate how to build these.
