Color and Light and a bit of how it all started….
NOTE THAT THIS MEETING STARTS AT 11am
January 10, 2022 @ 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
Zoom
NEVADA WIER is a multiple award-winning photographer specializing in documenting the remote corners of the world and the cultures that inhabit them. She is recognized for her creative and intimate approach to people. She has been published in numerous national and international publications, including National Geographic, National Geographic Traveler, National Geographic Adventure, Geo, Islands, NY Times Magazine, Outside, and Smithsonian. Nevada’s work is represented by National Geographic Images and Getty. She is a Fellow of The Explorer’s Club and a member of the Women’s Geographic Society.
She is coming to us from New Mexico so the meeting time will be adjusted to 11:00 – 1:00 EST. She will present for 90 minutes, and we will fit in questions and Tina’s Member Challenge slide show after that. Also, that will not allow for an extensive meeting that day. She suggested 90 minutes and I was eager to take advantage of that!
She will give an assignment for a virtual shoot. The assignment can be done by all members. A maximum of 20 members will sign up to have their photos reviewed at a Critique on January 31 from 11:00 to 1:00 EST. Nevada will specify the preferred size for submission. We will collect the photos and send them to her by Saturday, January 29. Usually, 2 per participant works. We may adjust that number based on the actual number of participants and her preference.
