Linda Albus: iPhone Shooting & Processing

February 3 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
The Sandcastle
Here’s what Linda has to share about Monday’s workshop:

“Just in case Rad’s excellent lesson was a dash too fast for some of us, (including me) we will have a practice session at our next meeting.

I will go over certain settings we can use to speed up our process, several places to store our priceless images at specific price points, and where to find similar settings on the phone to those we would find on our “real” cameras. (I hesitate to use that word because as we all know,  it isn’t the camera that makes the image, it’s the photographer).

If you use a third-party camera app such as Halide or Camera+, have that app available, and I’ll show you how to access it without going through your app icons each time. By the way, requiring a third-party app isn’t nearly as much of an issue as it used to be, so don’t run out to get one.

If you have a phone tripod, have that with you.

Then I will show you some fun editing options.

It would help speed up our learning if you would check out where a couple of buttons are before you get to class. Open the settings app and scroll down to camera. We will go through why some of these settings should be changed. Make sure you know which side buttons are which on your camera as we will be using those and purposely ignoring others.

So come with a charged phone, a notebook, and a sense of humor so we can laugh at ourselves as we make a bunch of mistakes.

Also, we will be playing with taking some photos, so if you have a couple of small objects to bring, we can see what happens in various conditions when we photograph our models. “
