The Life of a National Geographic Travel Photographer: Perception vs Reality

Being on the road for Nat Geo and other popular travel magazines is the dream job of many photographers. But is it all it’s cracked up to be?

Bob will outline five problems encountered shooting travel assignments and address how to deal with them. His behind the scene stories and real-world advice will give you insight into what really goes on in a pro photographer’s life on the road. You’ll be better equipped to handle your next photo trip.

Warning: After this talk, you may not want to quit your day job to take up this glamour profession.

Bob was with us at our May meeting discussing Portrait Photography. He gave us a ton of good information and some fun stories. This visit will be more anecdotal. Entertaining and inspiring, it will provide a reminder of what traveling with a camera can be like. You may remember he is the guy who was stranded on a glacier in Iceland, nearly run down by bulls in southern India, and knighted with a cutlass during a Trinidad voodoo ceremony.
