December 7, 2020 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Morris and Dick will lead this workshop on Luminar and Apple Photos. For those of you who have not used either of these editing programs, the meeting will introduce you to their various capabilities. For current users, this will be an update and a good opportunity to ask our presenters specific questions about issues you’ve had with the software packages. If you do have a specific question, please send it to either Morris (Apple)mailto:mvhanan@gmail.comor Dick (Luminar)mailto:rxl24@msn.com, so they can prepare to address it.
Both Morris and Dick have asked that you submit an image or two that you’d like to see edited in these post-processing software packages. From a landscape to a portrait, anything may be submitted, and you might consider sending an image that looks “hopeless” to process to see if these software packages could help you in your post-processing efforts. If you use Apple’s Photos for editing, then you’ll want Luminar! It is fantastic for some basic fixes that Photos does poorly, such as erasing unwanted objects! The skin enhancer and sky replacement do a great job as well, see below before and after images.
Dick will also discuss the new Skylum program – Luminar AI – which will be unveiled soon and is a totally new platform (not an upgrade from Luminar 4) heavily based on artificial intelligence.
If you don’t already have Luminar 4, the current version, don’t buy it now, just use their free trial. https://skylum.com/luminar-x-membership. As the new Luminar AI is not an upgrade to Luminar 4 but rather a new product. The pre-order pricing is $59 if you already have Luminar or $69 if buying it for the first time, this is not a subscription instead you own it outright.
