SUMMARY:Monthly Meeting: Sarah Marino
DESCRIPTION:SARAH MARIN: THE EXPANSIVE MINDSET: \n\n\n\n. Seeing opportunities instead of limitations  \n\n\n\n. Seeing potential in a diverse range of subjects  \n\n\n\n. Looking for opportunities without judgment \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nRegarded as a thoughtful\, inspiring\, and organized teacher and speaker\, her approach is supportive and encouraging. Sarah is a popular presenter with the Out of Chicago workshops. Sarah’s teaching focuses on personal expression\, seeing opportunities in any landscape\, and nature’s small scenes. Her slow\, mindful style of photography encourages exploring and connecting with nature. \n\n\n\nCheck out her diverse work: https://photos.smallscenes.com/Sarah \n\n\n\nAnd her free portfolio ebooks:  https://smallscenes.com/free-portfolio-ebooks \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nVIRTUAL SHOOT \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nYou can do your shooting any time\, any place. \n\n\n\nIf you are on Kiawah\, You can take advantage of the Shoot at the Goatery: \n\n\n\nThursday\, April 20th: 10:30am\, Photo Shoot for all KIPC members\, just four miles from Freshfields\, at The Goatery at Kiawah River (3883 Betsy Kerrison Pkwy\, Johns Island). The baby goats have been born and we will have the opportunity to photograph them\, along with the Belted Galloway cows and other farm animals\, and some of the flowers and vegetables growing in the nearby farm fields.  No need to sign up. Just show up.  \n\n\n\nAssignment: The “expansive mindset” is all about seeing opportunities instead of limitations. This includes being open to working with all different kinds of light\, seeing potential in a diverse range of subjects\, leaving expectations at home\, and observing deeply as a way of connecting with the landscape. For this assignment\, make time for a photo session but do not set any goals or expectations. Instead\, be open to what the landscape presents at the time of your visit and look for opportunities without judgment. Explore\, try new things\, be curious\, and experiment. \n\n\n\nAll are encouraged to try the shoot and attend the critique. 20 members will have their work reviewed by Sarah. The $10 cost helps defray expenses. This is an opportunity for all skill levels to get helpful feedback.  \n\n\n\nTO SIGN UP\, EMAIL GORDON BELL AT: GRB7649@YAHOO.COM and put Sarah Marino in the subject Gordon will confirm your place and provide details including how to pay.Critique Monday\, April 24\, 10am-noon \n\n\n\nThis is an opportunity for all skill levels to get helpful feedback. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSarah Marino: Portfolio – Sarah Marino & Ron Coscorrosa (smallscenes.com)

SUMMARY:Photowalk: Magnolia Cemetery w/Jack
DESCRIPTION:Magnolia Cemetery in Charleston has always been a popular photography destination. Lots of scenes to try to capture. And I understand the lake has again been filled and there are birds there. I have asked them for permission (a story in itself) and said we would be there from 9:30 to 11:30 AM or so.  \n\n\n\nTo find the Cemetery\, which is off Meeting Street\, put this address in your GPS:  1–27 Cunnington Ave\, orth Charleston\, SC  29405 \n\n\n\nThe gate to the cemetery is at:  Huguenin Ave\, North Charleston\, SC  29405.  \n\n\n\nOr just put Magnolia Cemetery in the GPS and it will bring you there. Follow the directions carefully! In the past several people found themselves on the Ravenel Bridge to Mt. Pleasant before they knew it. You perhaps should allow an hour to get there from Kiawah.  When you arrive come thru the main gate and drive straight ahead. I believe in the past we have parked 100 yards or so along that road next to a white house. It is a big place but you will see us eventually \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nLet Jack know if you’ll be attending. \n\n\n\nCALL/TEXT/EMAIL if you are coming.  \n\n\n\nCell:     607-437-8519johnkotz@mac.com \n\n\n\nIn case of rain\, etc. he’ll email participants with plan updates. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nMeet Jack at the cemetery at 9:30.
